TikTok LIVE agency requirements for creators

Updated October 2, 2026

There is no single list of TikTok LIVE agency requirements. Some conditions come from TikTok and apply to everyone; the rest are set by each agency. This guide separates the two, explains the common asks, and shows which ones should make you pause.

Two layers of requirements

The first layer is TikTok's: the rules for having LIVE access and receiving gifts at all. They apply whether or not you are with an agency, and an agency cannot waive them. The second layer is the agency's: its own selection criteria and the commitments it asks of members. Those differ between agencies and are not published by TikTok.

Keeping the layers apart is useful in practice. If someone tells you that TikTok requires something that is really the agency's own preference — a minimum number of hours, a fee, exclusivity — you can ask for the TikTok rule in writing. A genuine requirement can be pointed to.

What comes from TikTok

Widely published guidance says that to go LIVE and to send or receive gifts a person must be at least 18, and that going LIVE needs a minimum follower count, most often quoted as 1,000. The follower threshold has varied by region and over time, and accounts can lose LIVE access for breaking community rules. We found these figures repeated in many places but did not find a single TikTok rule page that states them for every country, so treat them as the usual case, not a guarantee.

Your app is the final authority. If you see the LIVE option and can receive gifts, you meet TikTok's conditions where you are today.

What agencies commonly ask

The conditions below are the ones agencies commonly describe. None is an official TikTok requirement, so none is universal:

Common agency conditions and how to treat them
ConditionWhy agencies askHow to treat it
Minimum LIVE hours per monthAn agency wants active members, since its own results depend on activity.Reasonable if stated up front. Ask what happens if you miss it.
Minimum audience or past resultsScreens for creators who are already live regularly.Fine as a screen. Be wary if a result is promised in return.
Identity or age confirmationGifts and payouts are tied to adults.Share what is needed for payout, only through official channels.
Schedule or content rulesConsistency helps growth.Check it fits your life and does not break TikTok's rules.
Exclusivity or minimum termProtects the agency's investment in your growth.Read the length and the notice period before you sign.
Payment, deposit or "registration fee"None that you should accept.A red flag. See the scams guide.

What TikTok asks of the agency

It helps to know that agencies have requirements too. TikTok's own pages say a network applies through LIVE Backstage with company documents, such as incorporation and ownership details, and that review takes about five to seven business days. This shows that a genuine agency has been through an application of its own, and that a named company and a contact person behind it are things you can reasonably ask about.

Requirements that should make you pause

A real requirement protects the agency's work; a bad one transfers risk to you. These are worth stopping on:

  • Any payment before you earn anything — joining fee, "verification" fee, equipment deposit.
  • A request for your TikTok password, a login code or control of your account.
  • Pressure to sign or apply today, or promises of guaranteed income.
  • A contract that is long, exclusive and has no notice period, or one you are not allowed to keep a copy of.
  • Terms that only exist in a chat and are never written down.

How to prepare

Before you reply, write down your own limits: how many hours you can commit, how long you are willing to be tied to one agency and what support you want. Then compare each agency's answer with those limits. An agency that fits your answers and puts its terms in writing is easier to work with than one that is vague about requirements it later enforces.

Worth knowing

Toktik is independent and not affiliated with TikTok. TikTok does not publish a list of agency requirements for creators; the conditions above are those agencies commonly describe. Agency-side facts are from TikTok LIVE Creator Networks pages (tiktok.com/live/creator-networks), checked 2 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What are the minimum requirements to join a TikTok LIVE agency?

TikTok's layer is LIVE access: widely reported as being 18 or older with a minimum follower count, often 1,000. Beyond that every agency sets its own criteria, which TikTok does not publish. Ask for them in writing.

Do I need 1,000 followers to join an agency?

You need to be able to go LIVE, which is usually tied to that follower count. Some agencies also set their own audience bar. Check what your app allows and what the agency asks.

How many hours do I have to stream for an agency?

It depends on the agency; TikTok publishes no standard. A monthly minimum is a common agency condition. Ask what it is and what happens if you miss it.

Is a joining fee normal?

No. Charging a creator to join is widely listed as a scam sign. TikTok publishes no fee schedule, so ask what any payment is for and treat upfront charges as a reason to stop.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Terms differ. Whatever the form, get the commission, payout date, length and notice period in writing before you agree.

Where can I see which agencies exist?

Toktik's agency directory lists agencies as published in TikTok's catalog, by region. Toktik does not rate or recommend them.
