How to join a TikTok LIVE agency, step by step
Updated October 2, 2026
Joining a TikTok LIVE agency takes a few minutes in the app, but the decision deserves longer than that. This guide walks through the steps in order — before you apply, the application itself, and the first weeks — and flags the points where TikTok publishes nothing and you have to ask.
What joining actually means
TikTok calls an agency a Creator Network. TikTok's own Creator Network pages describe networks as organisations that recruit creators and support them with operations, training and performance analytics, using an official tool for networks called LIVE Backstage. When you join one, your LIVE account is linked to that network inside TikTok's systems, and the network can see how your LIVEs perform.
That link is the whole point of joining, and also the reason to be careful. The agency gets visibility over your LIVE activity and, depending on its own agreement with you, a share of the money your LIVEs generate. TikTok's public pages do not say what that share is or how contracts must be written. Everything commercial is agreed between you and the agency, which is why the order of the steps below matters.
Step 1: check you can go LIVE at all
An agency cannot give you LIVE access you do not have. Widely published guidance says a creator must be at least 18 and have a minimum follower count (1,000 is the figure most often quoted) to go LIVE and receive gifts, and that the follower threshold can differ by country or change over time. Treat those numbers as a starting point and check what your own TikTok app shows.
If the LIVE button is not available to you yet, an agency is not the fix. A message promising to "unlock LIVE" for a fee is one of the most common approaches to creators who are not yet eligible, and the scams guide below covers it.
Step 2: find agencies and read what they published
Agencies come to you through direct messages, through other creators, or through TikTok's own agency listings in the app. Whichever way you meet one, look it up before you reply. Toktik's directory copies the public fields that agencies publish in TikTok's LIVE agency catalog — onboarding date, size bands, region where TikTok provides one, services, and a link to the official account when there is one. Toktik does not verify those fields; they are the agency's own description.
Use them to narrow the field, not to pick a winner: a longer track record, a region that matches yours and services that match what you need (training, a manager who reviews your LIVEs, equipment) are all reasonable filters.
Step 3: ask for the terms before you apply
The applications themselves are quick. The questions are the real work, and they cost nothing to ask. Write the answers down, or better, get them in an email or a document you can keep:
- What share of my gift income does the agency keep, how is it calculated and on what date am I paid?
- Does the agency charge me anything, now or later? If so, what for?
- Is there a contract? How long does it run, what is the notice period and is it exclusive?
- Who will I talk to, how fast do they reply and what happens if I have a problem?
- What happens to my account data and my earnings if I leave?
Step 4: apply inside TikTok
A genuine application starts in TikTok: the agency gives you an apply link or a QR code that opens its application page in the app. On an agency's page in the Toktik directory, Apply in TikTok opens that agency's own application page on your phone; on a computer, Copy apply link lets you send the link to your phone. Toktik is never part of the application and does not see it.
Be wary of an application that happens somewhere else — a chat group, a web form that asks for your TikTok password, or a payment page. The verification guide explains how to tell the difference.
Step 5: the first weeks
Once you are accepted, treat the first month as a trial in both directions. Keep your own record of your LIVE hours and diamonds, compare it with what the agency reports to you, and note when payments arrive against what you were told. If anything in the written terms and the real experience differ, raise it early, in writing.
You should always be able to explain, in one sentence, how the agency makes money from you. If you cannot, ask again.
Toktik is independent and not affiliated with TikTok. Frequently asked questions
Is it free to join a TikTok LIVE agency?
TikTok publishes no fee schedule, and agencies differ. Many state that they charge creators nothing and are paid on TikTok's side, while the terms of others vary. Ask what you will pay, now or later, and get the answer in writing; treat any upfront payment as a reason to stop and check.
How do I apply to a TikTok LIVE agency?
Through an apply link or QR code that opens the agency's application inside the TikTok app. On Toktik, Apply in TikTok on an agency page opens it on your phone, and Copy apply link sends it to your phone from a computer.
Do I need an agency to go LIVE?
No. LIVE access depends on your own account meeting TikTok's eligibility rules, not on an agency. An agency can offer support; it does not replace eligibility.
Can I join more than one agency?
TikTok's public pages do not explain this, and exclusivity is normally part of the agency's own terms. Ask the agency and read the contract before you apply to another.
How long does it take to be accepted?
TikTok does not publish a timeline for creators. Agencies decide on their own schedule, so ask when to expect an answer.
Does Toktik recommend an agency?
No. Toktik is independent, lists what each agency published and does not rate, rank or vouch for any of them.
