TikTok diamonds to USD: what is a diamond worth?

Updated October 4, 2026

One TikTok diamond is worth about $0.005 to the creator (about $0.01 of gift value), so 1,000 diamonds are roughly $5 and 10 million about $50,000. On every TikTok LIVE leaderboard the score is a number of diamonds. This is what that number means in dollars — an estimate of gift value, roughly half of which reaches the creator before agency splits and taxes — and what it does not tell you.

Coins, gifts and diamonds in one minute

Viewers buy coins inside TikTok and spend them on virtual gifts during a LIVE. Each gift has a price in coins. The creator who receives the gift is credited in diamonds, and the two move together: on the boards Toktik reads, one coin of gift value is counted as one diamond, so a 1,000-coin gift adds 1,000 diamonds to the creator's score.

That is why a leaderboard ranked by diamonds is really a ranking of how much gift value each creator received in the period — a measure of audience generosity, not of anyone's bank balance.

The rule of thumb: about $0.01 per diamond, about half kept

Toktik values one diamond at about $0.01 of gift value — what a viewer paid, in coins, for the gift that produced it.

Of that gift value, TikTok keeps a share and the creator receives roughly half. On its rankings pages Toktik therefore shows two numbers wherever it converts a score: the gift value (what viewers paid, about $0.01 per diamond) and the creator share (about half of that, about $0.005 per diamond).

What the estimate leaves out

Treat every dollar figure derived from a diamond count as an order-of-magnitude estimate, not a payout statement. Several things move the real number:

  • Coin prices differ by store, country, currency and bundle size, so what a viewer actually paid per coin varies.
  • Agencies and networks take their own split from a creator's earnings; the terms differ from one agency to the next and are private.
  • Taxes, payment-processing fees and payout timing come off the top or shift the timing.
  • Diamonds credited in a period are not the same as money paid out in that period.

What a leaderboard score is — and is not

A daily, popular-LIVE or gaming score is the diamonds a creator received in that period, observed from TikTok's own public board. It is a ranking signal. It is not the creator's income, not their followers, and not a promise of what they will earn tomorrow.

The Shopping ranking is different again: TikTok scores LIVE Shopping sellers in ranking points, not diamonds, sales or GMV. Toktik shows the points TikTok shows and never estimates revenue from them.

Gifter figures are a lower bound

On the gifter (whale) boards the number is the diamonds Toktik observed a gifter send across the LIVE rooms it watches. That is a floor on their activity, never their total TikTok spend — a gifter can be generous in rooms Toktik does not watch.

Worth knowing

Every dollar figure on Toktik that comes from a diamond count is a labelled estimate at the rates above. Toktik is independent and not affiliated with TikTok, and never presents an estimate as a payout.

Frequently asked questions

How many diamonds equal one US dollar?

About 100 diamonds are worth roughly $1 of gift value at the $0.01-per-diamond rule of thumb (a creator's share of that is about half). It is an estimate: actual coin prices vary by store and country.

Is one diamond worth the same as one coin?

On the boards Toktik reads, gift value is counted 1 coin = 1 diamond. What a viewer paid per coin varies with store, country and bundle, so the dollar value of that coin varies too.

How much does a TikTok creator keep from a gift?

As a rule of thumb about half of the gift value, before any split with an agency or network and before taxes. The exact terms are set by TikTok and by the creator's own agreements and are not visible from public data.

Is a creator's leaderboard score their income?

No. The score is the diamonds received in the period. Converting it to dollars gives an estimate of gift value and creator share, not what was paid out or earned after splits and taxes.

Does the Shopping ranking show sales or GMV?

No. TikTok's LIVE Shopping board scores ranking points, not sales. Toktik shows those points and never estimates revenue or GMV from them.

Are gifter diamond totals what that person spent on TikTok?

No. They are diamonds Toktik observed the gifter send across the LIVE rooms it watches — a lower bound on activity, not their total spend.
