Get alerted on live activity
3:15 walkthrough
Set alert rules for a creator, your watchlist, or any creator — get told when they go live — delivered in-app, by webhook, email, Telegram or Discord. Alerts come with the Live module (no extra tier needed).
What you'll learn
- Scope a rule to a creator, your watchlist, or any creator
- Choose the event to watch (currently: went live) and an optional region
- Wire delivery: in-app, webhook, email, Telegram or Discord
- Read the recent-fires feed
How it works
Open Alerts and start a rule
Go to Alerts and click New rule. Give it a Rule name, and note the tiles above the list: Rules active, Fired in 24 hours, Notifications and Channels. You can also start from your watchlist with New rule from watchlist, or from a watchlist row's Alert button to pre-fill that creator.
Choose scope, region and event
Under Alert scope pick My watchlist, A specific creator (enter a @handle) or Any creator, which the form warns can be a lot. Region is optional, and the event chip is Went live.
Turn on delivery channels
Enable at least one of Webhook, Email, In-app, Telegram or Discord. Webhook, Email and Discord ask for a target such as a URL or address. Telegram needs an account connected under Settings, then Notifications. A webhook's signing secret is shown once when you save, so copy it then.
Test the rule and watch it fire
Use the send icon on a rule to fire a test to its enabled channels, and the switch to pause it without deleting it. Real deliveries appear in Recent fires, newest first, and the Channels panel shows which channels are On.
Frequently asked questions
How fast do Toktik alerts arrive after a creator goes live?
The Alerts page says typically within a few minutes of the room opening. Detection is based on Toktik's observation of the live state, so it is not instant to the second.
Which channels can Toktik deliver alerts to?
In-app (the notification bell), webhook, email, Telegram and Discord. Telegram uses your connected account, and Discord takes a channel webhook URL from Server Settings, Integrations, Webhooks.
How do I verify a Toktik webhook alert is authentic?
Each webhook delivery is a POST signed with HMAC and sent with an x-toktik-signature header. The signing secret is shown once when you save the rule, so store it and check the signature against it on every request.
Do alerts need a paid plan or cost credits?
Alerts come with the Live module, and there is no separate tier check on them. Creating and managing rules through the API with a webhook:manage key does not spend credits.
